Mirror site is back up!
Read the instructions there properly, there are different instructions for the geocities and lycos sites.
Current sites:
Lycos
Geocities
Note: Sometimes the geocities site exceeds the allocated data transfer, while to download the file from the lycos site, you must disable your firewall (If any).

I will probably be moving to a new server from geocities. I'll work it out asap.
Meanwhile post here if you have any problems. Anyway I need to find out the minimum specs for the installer to work, so if the installer works for you, pls post ur amount of ram and ur operating system there.

Quote from myself:
"Please do me a favour by posting ur amount of ram and ur operating system if the installer works for u.
(And if it doesn't; specify too. Microsoft operating systems only, .exe files don't work on Mac OS X or Linux or...)
I want to know the minimum specifications for which the installer works.
Let me know if the installer is self-extractable from that .exe file if you have less than 16mb ram.
(Which I don't think will work; it's hopefully worth a try anyway)
Thanks"

I've decided that I will continue the maintenance of new installers, until a milestone release of thunderbird comes out, with which a web install will be sufficient. Until then, come back often!

I have heard a Tom Sommers has already created a web installer and is waiting for a nightly to test it on, i.e. when there is a milestone release of thunderbird. In that case, ~sigh~, i guess what I am doing now will be fruitless. I'll see what I can do about it.

Just as i thought. I downloaded a Thunderbird build for Mac OS X and viola! there was only one application needed to run thunderbird.
Seems like that are some differences between Mac OS X and Windows after all.
Anyway, for those of you who have been wondering, I won't be doing a linux build, mainly because I don't have a linux machine and I have no experience in linux. Maybe someone can help?

Hmmm. So far I'm only assembling and creating windows installers. I hope to be able to create an installer for the mac, but so far i think mac applications are in a self-contained file which doesn't require any installation. I'll check it out soon.
